Suicide

I just came across a few published papers citing Palong as one of Malaysia's top 5 champions for worst glycaemic control, worse BP control, and worse waist-hip ratio. Not bad. I wonder why.

Taking care of my Palong patients can be somehow life-draining, especially when you realize that most of they don't even care bout themselves. Despite multiple times of blistering your tongue advising them to adhere to their diet modification and drug compliance, somehow they just fail to listen. I have tried various ways to terrorize them with amputation, blindness, impotence, kidney failure, and even death, but somehow they seem to be obstinate enough for my death threats to work.

Me: Pakcik, kawalan gula tak pernah bagus ar.
Pakcik: Oh... Saya semalam sahaja tak kawal makan.
Me: Jangan tipu-lah. Buku kecil ni tunjuk sejak pakcik ada kencing manis 3 tahun dulu, sampai sekarang tak pernah kawal gula.
Pakcik: Hehehe.. ya kah?
Me: Pakcik ada injek ubat tak?
Pakcik: Ada. Saya injek 2 hari sekali.
Me: Apa? Kenapa injek macam tu? Siapa ajar punya? Sepatutnya 1 hari 2 kali-lah!
Pakcik: Oh... saya modify sendiri.
Me: Mujur pakcik tak pengsan lagi. Dah-lah tak injek ubat betul-betul, sekarang tak kawal makan lagi.
Pakcik: Doktor saya ada kawal. Semalam saya makan 3 ulas durian sahaja.
Me: APA!?!?!?! Patutlah gula tinggi sangat.
Pakcik: Tapi lepas makan durian saya minum air banyak.
Me: Minum air masak ke?
Pakcik: Tak. Tiap-tiap malam saya minum air laici tin.
Me: Oi! Nak bunuh diri ke?!

And everyone outside my clinic room peered in. I swear if I had a gun I would have just put on his head and pull the trigger myself.

Nice one, but where can we read the articles you mentioned? Got to see which clinic is the champion!

The studies generally compares a few districts in Malaysia, instead of clinics.

You can read bout one of them here at http://www.bioline.org.br/pdf?mj05005
